About me
Yolanda Sosa has worked for 30 years in Early Intervention/ Childhood. She has been an International Consultant/Presenter in Mental Health and for Pyramid Model Consortium for 25 years; presenting in national, international conferences and training institutes; coaching on Trauma-Informed Care, also leading the “Pyramid Model for Violence Prevention with the Police Force”implementation in Mexico City.She started her career as an early childhood special education teacher for 10 years, while pursuing her graduate degrees at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In her leadership experience, as Executive Director for 12 years, she was responsible for providing educational services to children and families living in high-risk conditions, in rural and city areas, developing policies and procedures, training staff and members of the community, and fundraising at the local, state, national and international level. She is a certified Trainer in Reflective Supervision Consultation, Brazelton Touching Points, Healing Center Engagement and ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Interface.Yolanda participated in the “Project Zero Approach” Certification offered by the Harvard University /Graduate School of Education and remained as an Official Member of their Principals’ Center for 6 years. In 2022, she received the Ambassador Medal for Sports Development and Peace in the World.Yolanda is the Assistant Director for Early Relational Health Promotion at - Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health (CAECMH) at Montclair State University in collaboration with the Department of Health/NJEIS. She co-chairs the Family Engagement Committee at the NJ Pyramid Model State Leadership Team. She is the President of Pro- Women and Sports Foundation. Recently she obtained another Master´s Degree in Violence Prevention and Gender from the University of Salamanca, Spain.Her mission is to work for equity and equality, social emotional foundations, promoting Mental Health, by serving professionals, families, and children of the world
