BetsyJohn Lane is a passionate advocate, mentor, and community leader dedicated to supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families across North Carolina. As an Education and Inclusion Specialist with the North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance (NCDSA), she plays a key role in developing and leading parent mentor programs, facilitating learning opportunities, and empowering families to navigate systems like IEPs with confidence and clarity.BetsyJohn is deeply committed to building inclusive communities where individuals of all abilities can thrive. She brings both professional insight and personal experience to her work, helping families envision and create meaningful, independent lives for their children—starting in the earliest educational settings. In addition to her advocacy work, she is a mama to 3 amazing kids, one rockin' an extra chromosome, and an educator by trade. She is actively involved in her local school community through PTA leadership, where she helps foster connection, engagement, and support for students, staff, and families.
